Zimbabwe gallery

Victoria Falls is called or Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning the Smoke that Thunders, is perhaps the world's largest waterfall, located on the Zambezi River right at the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia.

During flood season, some 546 million cubic meters per minute of water from the slow-moving Zambezi River pour over the edge over a long basalt cliff, nearly two kilometers wide, into a deep gorge 100 meters below.

We walked under this rainbow. Our clothes got soaked even with ponchos that went down to our ankles. I was pleasantly surprised my camera continued to work.

The mist was so thick we could hardly see the top of the falls that drop down 90 feet.

The Zambezi River that separates Zambia from Zimbabwe flows into the Indian Ocean on the east coast of Africa.

Marla Abrams of Idaho, Barbara Allison of California and I enjoy a glass of South African white wine on a cruise on the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe.
