Amer, or Amber Palace, in Jaipur was built in 1744 after the Persian invasion.

open-sided vehicles and Jeeps drop visitors at the entrance
Much of the mosaics and frescoes deteriorated in the 1970s and 1980s, but the palace's architecture and colorful decorations are now being restored
